‘SVÆVNINGER(스베브닝어)’는 50년 이상의 시간차를 둔 두 덴마크 사운드 아티스트, 엘스 마리 파데(Else Marie Pade)와 야콥 키르케고르(Jacob Kirkegaard)의 협업으로 탄생한 사운드 드로잉입니다. 파데는 1950년대 뮤직 콩크리트의 영향을 받은 덴마크 전자음악의 선구자이며, 키르케고르는 인간의 귓속, 체르노빌의 폐허, 지하수계 등 감각의 경계를 넘나드는 소리를 탐색해온 현대 사운드 아티스트입니다.
SVÆVNINGER(스베브닝어)는 덴마크어로 ‘맥놀이’, 즉 두 주파수가 충돌할 때 발생하는 미세한 비트 간섭을 뜻합니다. 이 앨범은 파데의 아카이브에서 발굴된 미공개 사운드 실험들과 키르케고르가 자신의 청각 기관에서 직접 채집한 자발적 이음향 방출(OAE)을 조합해 만들어졌으며, 기계와 신체, 과거와 현재, 외부와 내부를 잇는 청각적 통로로 기능합니다.
청취자는 더 이상 외부의 사운드를 ‘듣는’ 존재가 아니라, 자신의 귀 자체가 공명체이자 새로운 소리를 생성하는 장치로 작동하게 됩니다. 긴장감 있게 지속되는 두 음 사이의 미세한 높낮이 차이는, 감지와 착각, 물리와 심리를 가로지르며 신체 내부에서 제3의 소리를 만들어냅니다.
이 앨범은 완결된 이야기를 제공하지 않습니다. 오히려 불완전함을 유지함으로써 상상력을 열어두고, 청취자 스스로가 그 빈 공간에 의미를 투사하게 합니다. 그것은 청취의 가장 내밀한 메커니즘에 질문을 던지는 사운드의 실험실입니다.

Tilt에서의 청취 제안
8월, Tilt는 ‘감각의 구조’를 세 개의 키워드 ‘인프라신, 서브라임, 시뮬라크르’로 나누어 탐색합니다.
SVÆVNINGER 는 우리가 인식하지 못한 채 통과해온 미세한 진동, 감각의 틈새에서 울리는 음향을 조명합니다. 소리는 더 이상 외부의 자극이 아니라 내부에서 발생하는 사건, 그리고 신체와 청각 사이의 인프라신적인 간극에서 생성되는 새로운 경험으로 작동합니다.
Tilt는 이 청취를 통해, 우리가 무엇을 듣고 있으며, 또 그 듣기라는 행위가 우리 안에서 어떻게 작동하는지를 다시 질문합니다.

— The Interior of Sensation, a Vibration Towards the Unknown of Sound
SVÆVNINGER is a sound drawing born from the collaboration of two Danish sound artists separated by more than 50 years: Else Marie Pade and Jacob Kirkegaard. Pade was a pioneer of Danish electronic music, influenced by musique concrète in the 1950s, while Kirkegaard is a contemporary sound artist who has explored sounds that traverse the boundaries of sensation, from inside the human ear to the ruins of Chernobyl and subterranean water systems.
SVÆVNINGER is the Danish word for "beatings," the subtle interference that occurs when two frequencies collide. The album was created by combining unreleased sound experiments unearthed from Pade's archives with Kirkegaard's own recordings of "otoacoustic emissions" (OAE) captured directly from his auditory organs. It functions as an auditory passage connecting machine and body, past and present, exterior and interior.
The listener is no longer a being who simply "hears" external sounds; their own ear becomes a resonator, a device that generates new sound. The minute pitch difference between two sustained, tense tones crosses the line between perception and illusion, physics and psychology, creating a third sound from within the body.
This album does not offer a complete narrative. Instead, by maintaining a state of incompleteness, it opens up the imagination, allowing the listener to project their own meaning into the empty space. It is a sonic laboratory that questions the most intimate mechanisms of listening.
A Listening Proposal from Tilt
In August, Tilt explores the "Structure of Sensation" through three keywords: "Infrathin," "Sublime," and "Simulacra."
SVÆVNINGER illuminates the subtle vibrations we pass through without recognition, the acoustic phenomena that resonate in the gaps of our senses. Sound is no longer an external stimulus but an event that occurs internally, a new experience generated in the infrathin gap between the body and the auditory sense.
Through this listening experience, Tilt re-examines what we are hearing and how the act of listening itself operates within us.
