음악 애호에 그치지 않고 사운드에 빠져버린 건
어쩌면 알지 못하는 가사의 영어 랩 음악을 주구장창 듣던 때부터인 것 같습니다.
 
가사나 음률에 담긴 의미보다 직관적으로 느껴지는
리듬과 음가에서 전달되는 느낌으로도 흥분할 수 있던 학창 시절부터
음악을 병적으로 수집하고 정리했습니다.
 
저는 사운드가 주가 되는 공간을 방문하는 것을 좋아합니다.
클럽이나 공연장에 가도 도착하자마자
소리가 제일 잘 들리는 곳을 탐색합니다.
 
여러 곳을 방문해봤지만
틸트는 인터랙티브한 지점이 다른 공간과는 확연하게 달랐습니다.
새로운 재미를 느껴버렸어요.
 
저는 디제잉을 할 때 선곡의 중점적인 요소를
공간, 현장 분위기, 흐름, 기분 순으로
정하곤 합니다.
 
이번 선곡은 ‘이 공간에서라면 나는 어떤 노래를 듣고 싶은가’에 대해 집중했습니다.
이 플레이리스트를 만들기 위해 그렇게 내가 집착적으로 음악 파일을 모았던 게 아닐까?
라는 과장된 생각까지 해봅니다.
 
틸트에서 이 플레이리스트를 들을 생각에 벌써부터 설레입니다.

I think my fascination with sound, beyond just loving music, probably started when I was constantly listening to English rap music with lyrics I didn't understand.
 
Since my school days, I've been pathologically collecting and organizing music. Back then, I could get excited by the intuitive feelings conveyed through rhythm and sound, rather than the meaning in the lyrics or melody.
 
I love visiting places where sound is the main focus. Even when I go to a club or a concert venue, the first thing I do is scout out the spot where the sound is best.
 
I've been to many places, but Tilt's interactive aspect was distinctly different from other venues. I discovered a new kind of fun there.
 
When I DJ, I usually prioritize song selection based on the space, the现场 (现场 - atmosphere/vibe), the flow, and my mood, in that order.
 
For this particular selection, I focused on "what songs would I want to hear in this space?" I even had the exaggerated thought that maybe all my obsessive collecting of music files was for this very playlist.
 
I'm already so excited to listen to this playlist at Tilt.
